Andhra Pradesh has announced a new drone policy aimed at establishing at least 100 drone manufacturing units and attracting Rs 1,000 crore in investment over the next five years. According to a a report by The Economic Times, this policy is part of the state’s broader initiative to position itself as a significant player in India’s expanding drone sector, emphasizing local production, research, and job creation.
The policy includes various incentives for manufacturers, including subsidies for capital investment, land, and power. It also aims to promote skill development and training initiatives to build a specialized workforce in the drone industry. Under the policy, the government plans to allocate land parcels in specific industrial clusters designed to streamline production and logistics.
Officials also highlighted that Andhra Pradesh intends to leverage the policy to boost exports of drones and related technology, further contributing to the sector’s growth within the state.
