Time Technoplast Ltd. has received approval from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) to manufacture Type-3 fully wrapped fiber-reinforced composite cylinders. These high-pressure cylinders, with a 6.8-liter capacity, are designed for storing hydrogen to power fuel cell-based unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones.
This approval enables the company to expand its offerings in hydrogen energy solutions and sustainable technologies. The cylinders are engineered to provide a higher power-to-weight ratio, offering longer flying times and increased payload capacity for UAVs and drones. Hydrogen-powered drones are viewed as a lightweight and eco-friendly alternative to traditional battery-operated systems, reducing the need for frequent charging and enhancing operational efficiency.
According to publicly available market data, the global UAV and drone market is valued at approximately USD 30 billion, with an estimated compound annual growth rate of 11%, projected to reach USD 60 billion by 2032. Time Technoplast aims to address this growing demand for high-performance and environmentally friendly power sources for drones in various applications, including defense, surveillance, agriculture, and cargo delivery.
This development follows the company’s prior approval for manufacturing Type-4 non-metallic composite cylinders for hydrogen storage and transportation. Information attributed to a press release issued by the company.
