Avironix Drones has received General Authorization for Export of Drones (GAED) approval from India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), permitting the export of its AviSpray16 agricultural spraying drones to the United States and European markets.
In addition to this approval, Avironix has formed a strategic partnership with U.S.-based drone manufacturer Lumenier. This collaboration aims to introduce Lumenier's drone technologies to the Indian defense sector through technology transfer agreements, while facilitating the entry of Avironix's agricultural drones into the U.S. market. The partnership is expected to enhance bilateral trade and technological exchange between India and the United States.
To meet the anticipated increase in demand, Avironix has expanded its manufacturing facilities in Chennai. The AviSpray16 drone is designed for agricultural applications, featuring collision avoidance technology, terrain-following radar, and dual antennae for operational reliability. Its compact design facilitates easy transport, and its propulsion and electrical systems are optimized for efficient spraying operations.
With the GAED approval and the partnership with Lumenier, Avironix is positioned to supply its agricultural drones to farmers and agribusinesses in the U.S. and Europe, contributing to the adoption of precision farming technologies in these regions.
