Garuda Aerospace has signed an agreement with Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL) to establish a Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) in Jaipur. According to the company, the initiative aims to meet the growing demand for skilled drone operators in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, surveillance, and logistics.
The training programs will comply with regulations from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and include theoretical knowledge, practical flight training, and maintenance procedures. The facility leverages Garuda Aerospace’s expertise in drone technology and training along with REIL’s local infrastructure and reach in Rajasthan.
Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, described the initiative as a step toward addressing the critical need for trained drone pilots in India. He highlighted the role of the partnership in equipping individuals with industry-relevant skills.
REIL’s Managing Director, P.N. Sharma, noted the potential for drone technology to drive growth across various industries in Rajasthan. Sharma emphasized the collaboration’s aim to create a high-quality training platform to support the development of drone applications in the region.
Garuda Aerospace has previously trained over 1,500 drone pilots and holds multiple DGCA approvals for manufacturing and training. The company has formed partnerships with various public sector units and international firms, furthering its contributions to India's drone ecosystem.
The RPTO in Jaipur marks a continued effort to bolster local employment and skill development in the drone sector while aligning with government initiatives to strengthen domestic technological capabilities.
