Jewar International Airport is expected to commence regular operations in April 2025, according to Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, he stated that the airport had undergone a validation flight in December and remains on schedule for operational launch.
The airport, located near the Noida Expressway, is anticipated to enhance air connectivity for passengers and airlines. Naidu mentioned that several airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, have expressed interest in operating from the new facility.
The minister also addressed the government’s ongoing aviation initiatives, stating that the UDAN regional connectivity scheme would be extended for ten more years. Additionally, plans are in place to develop 100 new airports across the country.
Regarding the Kushinagar airport, Naidu indicated that efforts were underway to make it operational soon.
