Airbus has opened its new India and South Asia headquarters at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The facility consolidates operations for the company's Commercial Aircraft, Helicopters, and Defence & Space units in the region, aimed at enhancing Airbus' regional operations and service capacity.
The new headquarters will function as a central hub for Airbus' industrial activities in India, covering areas such as assembly, manufacturing, design, innovation, and training. Additionally, the facility will feature a pilot and maintenance training center, equipped with four A320neo Full Flight Simulators.
According to Airbus, India remains a key location for strengthening its supply chain and operational resilience. The company currently procures over €1 billion annually in components and services from India, supporting more than 15,000 jobs through its extensive local supply network. Airbus' engineering and digital centers in Bengaluru also contribute to the company's global commercial and helicopter programs.
Further expansion plans in India include a new Airbus campus in Bengaluru, set to accommodate 5,000 employees, and the construction of two final assembly lines for the C295 military transporter and H125 helicopters.
