BangaloreIndia and France have agreed to strengthen cooperation in space, Artificial Intelligence, advanced materials and emerging technologies following a bilateral meeting between Union Minister Jitendra Singh and French Minister Philippe Baptiste.
The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in AI and applied mathematics, Earth observation, space exploration, human spaceflight, microgravity research, ocean data sharing, and advanced scientific innovation. Both sides also reviewed ongoing cooperation between Indian Space Research Organisation and Centre National d'Études Spatiales on projects such as Megha-Tropiques, SARAL, and TRISHNA, along with France’s support for Gaganyaan.
India also highlighted the rapid expansion of its commercial space ecosystem, now supported by nearly 400 space start-ups, creating new opportunities for industry-level partnerships between the two countries.
The meeting reflects the growing strategic importance of India–France cooperation in high-technology sectors shaping the future of aerospace, defence and space innovation.Sunday, May 10, 2026
